Map Apps on iPhone

Ok, so after downloading and trying out a few different map programs on my iPhone, I’ve decided they are all worthless.  I mean the phone comes with Google maps already installed, and that seems to do just about the same exact thing as all these other programs.  It has a clean and clear map, you can search for particular places, and you can get step by step directions.  It also finds your current location so you don’t have to type in a starting point.

You can store particular places, such as your house or work, by “dropping a pin”.  By doing this you are able to quickly get directions to a place you commonly travel to instead of having to type in the address every time.

Another cool feature is being able to see traffic.  It definitely helps me when I have to travel through Phoenix at a busy time, I’m able to find an alternative route.  It also gives you an option to view things through a Satellite or Hybrid through.  I like to use this to look at my parents house every now and then, what can I say I miss home!

When you search for a particular place, you are able to call them right from the map, and even go straight to their website.  You can even add them straight to your contact list.

So tell me, what are your thoughts on this?  If there is something out there that I am not seeing or don’t know about, please fill me in!
