My Awesome Achievement
Last night was my nephew’s 8th birthday. Carlos and I got him the Lego Batman Tumbler and Ice Cream Truck set with the Joker and the Wario Shake It came for the Wii. He was so excited. The best part, is that these toys get to stay at our house, so when he isn’t there WE get to play with them!!! It’s awesome. I never thought it would be this way, but I am totally going to be that parent that when their child gets a project to do I’m going to do it for them. I know it. After he opened his presents, he naturally wanted to play with them right away. He went for the Legos first… so Carlos when for the Wario game first. I went with him with the Legos and we began to build. Well, I began to build. First, using the instructions, I put together the Joker Ice Cream Truck. It is so cool, and it was pretty easy. It is so funny because he tries to put the stickers on and I’m like “No! No! They’re crooked! Let me do it!” even though they are his toys. lol. After that… it was on to the real challenge. The Tumbler! Let me show you what it looks like in the movie so you get an idea of what it is I was about to build out of Legos.

Umm.. yeah. This instruction book was so long it was ridiculous. My nephew took one look at the book and handed it to me. So now, constructing this crazy machine was all up to me. After 2 hours of flipping back and worth through pages, frustration, and hard work, I did it. I built The Tumbler.

The top flips up and it can shoot! Here’s a picture of my nephew shooting this little thing out of it. You can see it in mid-air!

My Macbook Quest

This is the current setup. It’s not bad. HP Pavilion dv6449us Entertainment Notebook PC. It does everything I need it to. Has enough storage to store all my pictures and music, let me surf the internet, easy to use, and still operates at a pretty good speed. It gets the job done. But that is the problem. It does enough, it does the bare minimum. And for a person like myself that wants everything a more, “enough” is just not going to work. It’s time to consider going from a PC to a Mac.

The one thing about going from a PC to a Mac of course is cost. Mac’s cost almost twice as much as some PC laptops, but there is a reason. Mac’s are better. And they last a lot longer. I’m not going to need to buy a new one in a year or 2. I went to the apple to store to play with one and I just absolutely fell in love. I mean I already own so many other apple products: iphone, apple tv, ipods… why not a laptop that is made by the same company as all my other electronics that I love so much?!
As of today I’m officially starting…

Things that keep me going through the day…
Ok so I know all of us have the couple things that we MUST have in order to start the day and keep going. Well, I’m going to share with you what mine are!
1. I have to start out my day with caffeine. Yes, I am a caffeine addict. In the perfect world, I would be able to get Starbucks every single morning. A $5 coffee everyday in this economy isn’t feasible! But, I do try to get it whenever I can. Here is me with another love of mine: Iced Venti Soy White Mocha w/ no whip

2. Ok, so after I get my caffeine fix and get my day going, I need something that will keep me occupied. This is where my #2 love comes in, my iPhone!

Steve Jobs, you are awesome. Thank you.
3. Alright, so far we have started the day, gone through the day, now it’s time to end the day. This is the most important one!!!

Carlos!
So tell me…. what are your essentials for getting you through the day???
*by the way… these pics were taken with my new camera! (canon powershot sd750)
