It’s A….
GIRL!!!

For those of you that have trouble seeing what’s in the ultrasound, the first picture is the side view of her whole body and the second picture is of her cute little feet!
On February 5th we found out that we will be welcoming a beautiful little girl into the world in July! How exciting. That night we seriously went out and bought a ton of pink stuff, it was so much fun. I’ll be sure to keep everyone updated!

Fun with Photo Booth
Of course now that I have my MacBook, I had to play around with photo booth. My hair looks kind of reddish, weird. This one is definitely my favorite.

You can see the rest of my Photo Booth pics here!
My Dream Come True

Yep. I finally got my Macbook. It’s beautiful and I am in love with it. The very first thing I noticed is how soft and smooth the keys are. Weird I know, but you really can’t help but notice! It was a joy from the moment I turned it on. I flew through space while being told “welcome” in several different languages. After I made it to my desktop I went through the step by step setup. I signed up for the 60 day free trial of MobileMe. Does anyone out there use this? Is it worth it? Let me know.

So today was definitely a big day for me. After months and months of failed eBay and craigslist attempts, someone finally decided that my HP laptop was the right computer for them. Thank God! It’s about time. So anyways, my dream has finally come true and I am a proud owner of a brand new Macbook!
eBay = frustration
As many of you know, I have been on a Macbook quest for a LONG time. I’m so sick of Windows and HP and everything related to it. Off topic- I saw a preview of Windows 6. Is is just me or does it look almost exactly the same as Vista?! Where is the MAJOR improvement? LAME!
Anywho… I sold my computer on eBay for the 4th time today. How is this possible you may ask? I have put my laptop on there a few times and it has sold everytime. The first time I never received payment and was never able to contact the winner. The second time I got an email from eBay saying the person who bought my computer was actually a scammer blah blah blah. The third time was just like the first, never received payment and never was able to contact the buyer. The one good thing about this was ebay refunded me for my posting everytime, so at least it was free for me to repost all these times. Well… I finally sold my computer again today. The buyer only has 10 feedbacks, but at least they were all positive and recent, so maybe there is some hope for me.
A similar thing happened to my fiance. His computer sold yesterday and the winner contacted him after they had already won saying that it looked like the screen was broken. It doesn’t look broken at all, because it isn’t. Anywho, they then began to go on and on about all these concerns they suddenly had. He wrote them back and said “If you had so many concerns you shouldn’t have been several times to try to win”. Idiots.
Don’t get me wrong, I have had many many many good experiences with eBay. Maybe it’s just with laptops/computers that things get like this?! I don’t know. Anyways, everyone out there keep your fingers crossed for me that this transaction actually goes through so I can FINALLY go get my Macbook!!!
Happy 21st!
TO ME!!!
I’m wishing myself a happy 21st bday today!
Time For Some Change
I got bored today with my site and decided to change around the colors of my website. I really really really would like to do a custom header, but I’m not so sure how! If anyone has any experience with that or could direct me somewhere it would be most appreciated!!!
By the way… what do you think of the new colors?
Flip Video… not so much.
I was all about getting the Flip Video camera, I really was. But after I spent the weekend browsing the electronics departments of every store I could think of, I definitely changed my mind. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a pretty cool camera. It’s small and convenient to carry around with just in case of that once in a lifetime moment that absolutely must be caught on camera. But is it really practical? Not so much for me. I want to buy a new video camera to capture the precious little moments that are going to be taking place in my life not too far down the road, and with the screen size of the Flip, it’s not the best choice for me. There are plenty of other cameras out there that are plenty small that I can easily carry around in my purse with a screen at least twice as big as that of the Flip. Another thing I didn’t like about the Flip is that you can barely zoom with it at all! Good luck trying to film anything even remotely far away. Not gonna happen. I’m so happy I went out to the stores and actually played with it and compared it to some other cameras, otherwise I would have made a HUGE mistake.

This JVC camera was one of my favorites, and a great deal at only $349.99 at Best Buy! More expensive then the Flip, but a much more practical choice for me. And it has 30GB of build in Harddrive, so I can definitely record more than an hour!
My advice for anyone who is in the market for a new video camera and is interested in the Flip, go out and play with it first! I had my mind set on getting one, but after actually using it, I discovered it wasn’t the one for me.
How is technology effecting us?
I’m taking a Health and Wellness class in school right now, and it has brought up some very interesting things. Technology has a huge effect on our lives, but in more ways than just the obvious. It sucks to think about, but when does too much technology become a bad thing?
This idea was brought to me when I was learning about the obesity problem in America. In the United States, 127 million adults are overweight. 60 million of them are obese and 9 million are severely obese. That’s around 65% of the population! In the 70’s, 46% of Americans were obese. So, 20% more of our population has become obese in 30 years. Clearly, something has to be going on, and I think the most obvious thing would be the advances in technology.
We are able to do so many things without even needing to get up from the couch. We can talk on the phone, surf the internet, do homework, buy clothes, order groceries to be delivered to our home, etc. The only thing we can’t do (that I know of at least!) is use the restroom or get some food. Actually I take that back. At Pizza Hut you now have the ability to place your order for delivery online. You don’t even have to pick up the phone to get a pizza delivered to your house!
Technology has a huge effect on relationships between people. I can catch up with my friends I haven’t spoken with in years without actually speaking to them. Websites like Facebook and Myspace allow us to find old classmates or childhood friends. Obviously, this is a really amazing thing. I was able to find my best friend from my early childhood that I haven’t seen or spoken too in 12 years! And now, I still haven’t spoken to her. We were able to completely catch up on our lives and communicate through wall posts, messages, and email. Don’t get me wrong, it was amazing to speak with her again and see all her recent pictures, but I still haven’t actually spoken to her in 12 years. Now I know this isn’t always the case. With another friend of mine we exchanged phone numbers and actually spoke on the phone, but I think that is a pretty rare happening.
Text messaging has replaced talking on the phone. Well almost. I personally rather have a conversation through text messaging then on the phone, and I know for a fact I’m not the only person that feels this way. It’s easy and convenient, and if I don’t want to respond to something or I’m in the middle of doing something, I can respond whenever I feel like it. It also allows us to “talk” to people when we normally couldn’t. I’m able to communicate with friends and family during meetings, work, and class; times when I wouldn’t normally be able to talk to anyone outside of my classroom. It’s great. But, does it also have negative side effects? Yes. I know I have missed plenty of important information during class because I was too busy texting with a friend or surfing the internet on my phone. Even my parents know how to text, and they are pretty old! So are there a lot of good things that come out of this “silent communication”? Definitely. But there are also plenty of negatives as well.
So this brings me back to my original question, when does too much technology become a bad thing? Think about it, people don’t even need computers now to surf the internet, I have a safari internet browser on my iPhone. Could this 20% increase of obese Americans be related to the mass amounts of technology available to us? Is it impacting our relationships with friends and family?
btw- I hope I am not offending anyone with this, just something that was brough to my attention and made me think a little!
Snow in Arizona!
Yep, that’s right. Snow in Arizona on the wordpress hompage! Hooray for winter!
Where did I park?!
So… I was exploring some of the free apps in the app store on iTunes and discovered something pretty awesome. I don’t know about you, but I forget where I parked ALL the time; especially if I go to the mall, the parking lot is huge and I am short so I can’t see over all those huge cars! Well… this app can fix it! And the best part is that it’s free!

It’s called “Take Me To My Car”. It uses Google Maps and has a great display that gives you an accuracy amount instead of that lame circle that you get in GPS! It also gives you walking directions instead driving directions. So… go on, check it out!
